Individual Therapy

If you’ve been holding a lot together for a long time

Individual therapy is a place where you can slow things down and make sense of what you’ve been carrying - especially if you’re used to functioning well on the outside while feeling worn down, overwhelmed, or disconnected on the inside.

You don’t have to be in the middle of a crisis to come to therapy. Often, people reach out when life starts to feel heavier than it used to - more effortful, harder to sustain, or less aligned with who they know themselves to be.

Therapy can be a space to understand what’s shaped you, reconnect with yourself, and begin relating to your life with more clarity and steadiness - at a pace that respects you.

When you might reach out

You might find yourself here if:

  • stress or pressure feels constant, not tied to one specific situation

  • you feel emotionally drained or burnt out, even while still “doing fine” on the outside

  • family relationships continue to shape how you think, feel, or relate - long after childhood

  • you grew up needing to stay tuned in to others, while your own needs often came second

  • guilt, over-responsibility, or a lingering sense that something is “off” follows you through daily life

  • you’re living with chronic illness or ongoing health challenges that affect how you move through the world

  • past experiences still carry weight, even if you wouldn’t describe them as trauma

  • you want to understand yourself more deeply - not just cope or get through the day

You don’t need to have it all figured out. Wanting things to feel different is enough.

How therapy with me works

Our work is thoughtful, steady, and collaborative. We move at a pace that respects your nervous system, your history, and the fact that you’ve likely been managing a lot for a long time.

Together, we focus on:

  • understanding emotional patterns that have been with you for years

  • noticing how early experiences - including family stress or relational wounds - still show up in your body, relationships, and sense of self

  • building more steadiness, self-trust, and flexibility over time

This isn’t about pushing, fixing, or forcing insight. Sessions create space to reflect, feel, and gradually relate to yourself - and your life - in a different way.,

There’s room for seriousness and moments of lightness - often right when it helps you exhale a little.

A good fit - and when it may not be

This work tends to be a good fit if you:

  • are reflective and curious about yourself

  • want depth rather than quick strategies

  • are open to exploring family-of-origin patterns and emotional history

  • value steady, meaningful change over urgency

This work may not be the right fit if:

  • you’re looking for quick answers, strong direction, or someone to tell you what to do.

  • you’re looking for a space to vent, release anger, or focus primarily on what others are doing wrong.
