Heal with Lynne

Lynne Protain, Registered Psychotherapist

Therapy for women who look like they’re holding it together while carrying too much underneath

For women feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, emotionally worn down, or deeply affected by stress, family dynamics, and the weight of carrying too much for too long.

Together, we make sense of what has been weighing on you,
what keeps repeating in your relationships and inner life, and
how to move toward steadiness, clarity, and a deeper sense
of self-trust.

Virtual & phone therapy

You may be used to holding a great deal on your own.

Over time, that can start to feel like emotional exhaustion, self-doubt, strained relationships, old patterns repeating, or a growing sense that you have lost touch with yourself. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what has been shaping your experience, and begin creating meaningful change with steadiness and care.

This work tends to be a strong fit for women who want more than temporary relief and are ready for thoughtful, deeper support.

How I work

My approach is warm, grounded, and thoughtful. I offer a space where you can slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of what has been weighing on you. Together, we look at the deeper patterns shaping your stress, relationships, and sense of self so change can feel meaningful and lasting.

This work is especially supportive for women who have been carrying a great deal for a long time, often while still appearing capable on the outside. Therapy can help you understand what keeps repeating, soften self-judgement, and move forward with more clarity, steadiness, and self-trust.

Ways to Work with Me

I offer a few ways to work together depending on the kind of support you are looking for, with individual therapy as the heart of my practice.

  • Support for women and 2SLGBTQ+ adults navigating chronic stress, burnout, health challenges, sustained internal or professional pressure, and long-standing patterns often shaped by family dynamics - including feeling unseen, overly responsible, or pulled to manage other people’s emotions.

Sessions move at a steady, thoughtful pace, with space to understand what is having the greatest impact and to begin relating to yourself and others differently over time.

  • Support for couples who feel stuck in repeating patterns, miscommunication, or growing emotional distance - even when there is care and commitment on both sides.

Sessions move at a steady, thoughtful pace, focusing on what’s happening between you and how to shift patterns in ways that feel more connected over time.

    Available to Ontario-based clients.

  • Coaching is an option for people who are functioning well externally but feeling internally stretched, stuck, or unclear. It often suits professionals and leaders who want space to reflect, think more clearly, and relate differently to pressure, responsibility, or recurring patterns.

Sessions focus on awareness, capacity, and choice - rather than quick strategies or performance fixes.

Coaching may be a fit if you’re seeking structured support while continuing to function at a high level, or if you’re not sure whether therapy is the right starting point.

Mindfulness-based programs grounded in extensive research showing benefits for stress, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, chronic pain, sleep difficulties, and emotional exhaustion. These programs are especially helpful for people who feel overwhelmed, stuck in their own heads, or worn down from managing too much for too long.

The work focuses on practical ways to slow things down, respond rather than react, reduce overthinking, and relate more kindly to yourself - particularly in situations that can’t simply be fixed.

Programs are structured, supportive, and designed to be accessible even if you’re already feeling depleted.

    Available worldwide.
