Trauma-Informed Therapy for Women

Trauma-informed therapy for women who feel emotionally overwhelmed, hyper-alert, disconnected from themselves, or shaped by painful experiences that still live in the present.

I work primarily with women carrying the effects of trauma, chronic stress, painful relationship experiences, childhood emotional wounds, and long-standing patterns of self-abandonment, over-responsibility, and emotional disconnection.

Trauma can shape how you respond to stress, how safe you feel in your body, how you relate to others, and how much of your energy goes into coping, over-functioning, staying guarded, or simply trying to hold it together.

I offer thoughtful, depth-oriented trauma therapy that helps you understand what is happening, build more internal safety and steadiness, and process what still feels unfinished at a pace that feels grounded and manageable.

My Approach to Trauma Therapy

My approach is trauma-informed, relational, somatic, and depth-oriented. I pay close attention to how trauma can shape the nervous system, self-concept, emotional patterns, relationship dynamics, and the protective strategies that once helped you get through.

Therapy may include making sense of trauma responses, building internal safety, increasing capacity for emotional regulation, and gently processing the impact of earlier or overwhelming experiences at a pace that feels steady and grounded.

I am a Toronto-based Registered Psychotherapist offering virtual trauma therapy across Ontario for women who are looking for thoughtful support with real depth.

What Trauma Can Look Like:

  • feeling on edge, bracing, emotionally flooded, numb, shut down, or disconnected

  • people-pleasing, over-functioning, and difficulty with boundaries

  • shame, self-blame, fear, or relationship patterns that feel hard to shift despite insight

  • childhood emotional neglect, painful family dynamics, abusive or controlling relationships, and chronic relational stress

How Therapy Can Help:

  • understand your patterns with more clarity and less self-judgement

  • build more steadiness in your body and nervous system

  • process unresolved experiences at a pace that feels steady and grounded

  • strengthen your sense of self, boundaries, and trust in your own experience

Trauma therapy with me may be a good fit if you:

  • feel deeply affected by earlier experiences, painful relationships, or family-of-origin dynamics

  • look capable and high-functioning on the outside while carrying a great deal internally

  • notice patterns of over-functioning, people-pleasing, self-abandonment, emotional overwhelm, or shutdown

  • want therapy that goes beyond surface coping and helps you understand deeper patterns

  • value a warm, thoughtful, trauma-informed approach that moves with care and depth

A brief consultation to talk about what is bringing you in, answer practical questions, and explore whether this feels like the right fit for ongoing therapy.

You may have learned to keep going while carrying a great deal underneath.

Trauma therapy can offer space to understand those patterns, build more internal steadiness, and begin relating to yourself with greater clarity and care.
