About me Personally….

Hi…Welcome!

I love spending quality time with my family and our doggies. Being in nature, especially by the beach, brings me a sense of peace and renewal. I enjoy yoga, cycling and practicing mindfulness meditation as I’m passionate about nurturing my mind and body.

I love exploring the world - travelling to new places, discovering unique experiences and cooking. Reading and writing are my creative outlets, and I’m always eager to learn and grow. These practices not only ground me but inform my approach as a therapist, coach and mindfulness teacher.

My firsthand experience with chronic illness and burnout has deeply informed my compassionate approach to therapy and coaching. I understand the complexities of navigating these challenges and am committed to supporting others on their healing journeys.

I understand the value of balance, resilience, and the courage it takes to embark on a path of self-discovery. My hope is to inspire and support you to find your own sense of peace and empowerment.

As Jon Kabat-Zinn wisely said: "You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf."

About me Professionally……

I’m a Registered Psychotherapist, Professional Certified Coach, and Certified MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) Teacher with specialized training in trauma therapy, mindfulness, and coaching.

My work is grounded in compassion, evidence-based practices, and lived experience. I support clients navigating trauma, chronic stress, burnout, chronic illness, and women’s health challenges including perimenopause, menopause, and fertility. I also work with adult children of narcissistic or emotionally immature parents - people who often carry more than their share and are ready to explore what healing could look like on their terms.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 20 years in the corporate world — leading teams, managing deadlines, and juggling the demands of career, family, and health as a single mom. That experience deeply informs my approach today. I understand what it means to function under pressure while quietly struggling inside - and how hard it can be to find space for yourself in the midst of it all.

Years ago, I enrolled in an MBSR program looking for tools to cope with chronic stress, chronic pain, anxiety, and burnout. The experience changed my life. I later spent years training to become a Certified MBSR Instructor through the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto, where I also served as a teacher. My experience includes developing and leading programs for organizations such as the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), the University of Toronto, and the Federal Government.

My facilitation style is trauma-aware, steady, and spacious - always rooted in safety, respect, and curiosity. Whether we’re working together one-on-one or in a group, I aim to create a space where you can be real, feel supported, and begin to move toward meaningful change.

You don’t have to carry it all alone. And you don’t have to rush your healing, either.

Understand • Heal • Strengthen • Grow

  • Trauma-Focused & Trauma-Informed.

Trauma leaves a psychological and somatic imprint on us. Years after events have passed the body continues to respond as if the danger is still present.

As a result, I focus on not only understanding the connections between our trauma and our lives, but also on transforming how the mind, body, and soul remember our trauma.

  • Compassion-Focused.

My compassion-focused approach is impactful, especially during periods of great challenges when we can often find ourselves struggling with shame and criticism, which makes emotional regulation difficult.

Integrating self-compassion training into therapy helps you develop and work with experiences of inner warmth, safety and learning to self-soothe.

  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Mindfulness has been clinically proven to be beneficial to mental health. Bringing mindfulness into therapeutic approaches can enhance positive results.

Mindfulness techniques can provide grounding for dealing with difficulties, can help with distress tolerance and emotion regulation. They can also improve one’s awareness of triggers related to substance use, eating disorders, suicide ideation, and trauma.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a unique empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behaviour change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. You learn how to make healthy contact with thoughts, feelings, memories, and physical sensations that have been feared and avoided.

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

DBT is therapeuticl model that is adpated from CBT and is for those who experience very intense emotions. It’s a common therapy for people with Borderline Personality Disorder and is also helpful for those who have difficulty managing and regulating their emotions.

DBT helps people learn healthier ways to cope.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative evidence-based therapeutic model that views each of us as having distinctive internal parts that have needed to adopt certain beliefs and roles as a way to help us navigate our world.

Our inner parts contain valuable qualities and our core Self knows how to heal, allowing us to become integrated and whole. In IFS all parts are welcome.
